With a lifetime interest in art and photography I have studied two foundation courses, one in fine art and the other in textiles. As a result I have quite a large collection of books of samples and work, which have been used in the collages. These have included handmade paper, handmade felt, printed paper, machine knitting, machine embroidery and dyed fabrics.
I have also always been a keen patchworker, having completed a City & Guilds course in Patchwork and Quilting. In 1997 I won the cup for a Novice Quilt at the National Patchwork Championships and I have also contributed to quilting exhibitions. My work eventually evolved into making wall hangings and more abstract textile work.
I have been making collages for the past two years, switching from textile work to more fine art. These have all been of local scenes near to where I live in Whitchurch on Thames,Oxfordshire. Some of which are representational whilst others are more abstract. Digital prints and and postcards are also available. I will also undertake private or corporate commissions.
My first collage titled Whitchurch Lock was exhibited at the Royal Academy London Summer Exhibition 2017. Another title The Ferryboat Inn (Whitchurch on Thames) was shortlisted for the RWA Bristol Exhibition 2017.
