Ella Guru was born in Ohio, USA and is a founding member of the Stuckist Art Movement.
Ella Guru's pelican paintings are inspired by the white pelicans in St Jame's Park London. In 'Stretchy Pelicans' they are posing for the tourists.
There are signs throughout the park telling people not to feed the pelicans, as they are meant to eat only fish. But people always throw them bread and even crisps. In 'Two Pelicans FIghting over a Morsel of Forbidden Food', the pelicans have been given some very naughty cheese and onion crisps.
The etchings of a Greylag Goose and a Hawaiian Goose are also based on birds at St James.
