Yorkshire born Artist and Sculptor Dave Morris is creating a stir at Modern Artists Gallery Berkshire. Combining a sense of nostalgia with strong cultural and political views, these unique pieces are created from recycled toys. The difficulties in finding an example of the extinct dodo for life studies was just one of the obstacles placed in the artist's path while creating this extraordinary collection of work! The four new sculptures establish the artists three-dimensional abilities, while oil on canvas 'Angel Warz' articulates Morris's painterly skills and also his links with growing up during the early '80s.
'The idea of this assemblage of past, present and imaginary, and the manipulation of artefacts in which to cultivate memories that are nothing more than fictional representations of imagination and creativity, have led me to question the concept of memory and the role it plays within our prophetic understanding of things'
