BIOGRAPHY OF PHILLIP KOTOKWA
Phillip Kotokwa was born in Harare, Zimbabwe in 1972 . He is now living in the UK and studying for a Fine Arts Degree.
Since childhood Phillip Kotokwa had shown great interest in stone sculpture and developed considerable skills as a sculptor.
In 1994 Phillip became a full time artist. Working on the most demanding stone such as leopard rock, granite, serpentine and spring stone.
His ideas about sculpture embrace a world of sculpture rather than ‘singularity’ what is made in Zimbabwe. Believing that a powerful imagination is decisive to the success of a sculptor working in stone.
The National Gallery of Zimbabwe, Chapungu Sculpture Park,
Similitude Gallery, Rubwerureva Attractions (Bindura) African Millennium, have all displayed work by Phillip Kotokwa.
