1996–99 Manchester Metropolitan University,
BA (Hons) Textiles First Class Degree, specialising in printed textiles
1995–96 Winchester School of Art, Art & Design Foundation
Since graduating from printed textile design at Manchester Metropolitan University, Charlotte Hardy
has exhibited paintings and prints in galleries and undertaken illustration commissions for greeting cards
and editorial projects.
Paintings. Mixed media, using acrylic paints, inks, oils pastels and
collage on handmade or watercolour paper. Eclectic elements are playfully arranged to form a narrative.
Interesting and old-fashioned objects in museums, shops, markets, cafes and domestic environments inspire
her.
Prints. Charlotte has developed her passion for drawing, mark making and pattern by
creating a collection of screen prints. She has taken black line drawings from her sketchbooks and
translated them onto screen. The prints are in small editions and individually hand coloured using
acrylic paint, inks and Procion dyes.
