EMMA O'ROURKE

UK native, DC-based artist Emma O’Rourke  obtained her degree in Fine Art from the famous British Art College - Central St. Martin’s, and an extensive background in drawing, colour, composition and design, fine art has always been the backbone of O'Rourke's  work.
After  an early successful career in fashion styling (for many music bands such as Dutch Band ‘Two Unlimited’, personal stylist and design consultant for British Band ‘Incognito’, and Acid Jazz Records, and photography for Metamorphosis music promotions (including photographing and styling Melanie Blatt for ‘All Saints’), the ‘Independent Newspaper’, Emma O'Rourke  moved to a career in art direction and graphic design for various large international agencies. 

In 2000, Emma turned her creative endeavors toward painting full-time. Utilizing her academic training in the figure and still life, mixed with her great talent for style, color and layout design,  combining the sensitivity of realism with the freedom and expression of abstraction.

Emma' O'Rourke's work has been exhibited in New York, London, Martha’s Vineyard and Washington, DC.
